Automatic invoices, VAT and GoBD archive for Shopify

Every Shopify order becomes a compliant invoice, automatically.

Faktwise issues a complete invoice for every paid order the moment it is paid: the right EU VAT scheme for each sale (standard, reverse charge, OSS, §19), the required legal wording, gap-free numbering and a GoBD-ready 10-year archive your accountant gets as a monthly export. Every invoice is a structured ZUGFeRD 2.4 e-invoice, with XRechnung for public-sector buyers, so you are already ready for Germany's 2027/2028 mandate. Flat €19/month, no per-order fees.

An order flows through Faktwise and becomes validated e-invoices

Validator-checked

Our formats are checked in CI against the official German KoSIT validator and veraPDF, the same tools tax auditors trust. Six EU VAT schemes handled correctly, including reverse charge, OSS and §19 Kleinunternehmer.

Fully automatic

An order gets paid, the invoice is issued and emailed to your customer. A refund produces a credit note referencing the original. VAT IDs validated against VIES. You do nothing.

Flat price

€19/month (billed through Shopify as about $22 USD), unlimited invoices. Competitors charge $129/month for "unlimited" or bill you per order. Your accountant gets a tidy ZIP export every month.

How it works

Install and enter your details

Business name, address, VAT ID, bank details. Two minutes, once. That covers the invoice details German law requires.

Sell as usual

Each paid order becomes an invoice in seconds: the applicable VAT scheme, the required legal wording, a sequential number, e-invoice XML embedded in the PDF.

Stay audit-ready

Invoices live in a 10-year append-only archive. Monthly ZIP for your accountant, OSS quarterly report, credit notes handled on refunds.

Built for the deadline that's coming

Since 2025 every German business must receive e-invoices. From January 2027, businesses above €800k turnover must issue them, and from January 2028, everyone must. France follows with Factur-X. Merchants who set up now avoid the panic later. Read our compliance guides

Common questions

What is the German e-invoicing mandate?

Since January 2025 every German business must be able to receive e-invoices. From January 2027, businesses with more than 800,000 euro turnover must also issue them, and from January 2028 the duty applies to everyone. An e-invoice is a structured format such as ZUGFeRD or XRechnung; a plain PDF no longer counts.

Does Faktwise work for B2C shops too?

Yes. The mandate covers domestic B2B sales, but Faktwise generates correct invoices for every order type: consumer sales, EU B2B with VIES-validated VAT IDs, OSS destination-country VAT, exports and the German small business scheme.

Are the invoices really compliant?

Every format Faktwise produces is checked against the official validators: the KoSIT validator used for XRechnung and PDF/A validation for ZUGFeRD files. The exact legal wording for each tax case (reverse charge, intra-Community supply, export) is printed automatically.

What does it cost?

The free plan covers 5 invoices per month. The Unlimited plan is a flat 19 euro per month, billed through your Shopify invoice as about 22 USD because Shopify's billing is in dollars, with a 14-day free trial. There are no per-order fees and no tier jumps.
